Montana Black Bear Hunting
Our Montana Bear Hunt takes place on the LoLo National Forest in western Montana. We mainly hunt theses trophy bears in the spring months of May and June. After the bears emerge from their winter dens they start to feed on the fresh growing green grasses. Our main method of hunting these bears is glassing from a high vantage point looking for bears feeding on the south facing slopes. Once a suitable bear is spotted we close the distance to take the shot. We will also still hunt old grassy logging roads and grassy creek bottoms where bears are also known to feed. Shooting distances can range any where from 100 yards to 400 yards. Most of the hunting is done by foot. It is important that you be in good physical shape as it will increase your odds of being successful. Accommodations during your Montana Bear Hunt will be either a comfortable back-country wall tent camp or provided by the Lodge at LoLo Hot Springs. Here you will enjoy spacious rooms, comfortable queen size beds and hot showers. After the days hunt and a hearty meal you can enjoy a relaxing soak in the lodge’s private hot spring pools.
